Andrea K. Schlehwein is a Choreographer, Director and Curator of Contemporary Art.

She writes art concepts, reviews and a variety of texts. Since 2012 Andrea K. Schlehwein is ‚Invited Guest  Professor for Choreography and Dance Creation“ at the internationally renowed Korea National University of Arts in Seoul / Korea.

 

2008 she established a think tank and production office, based in the Carinthian mountains of  Austria (büro für tanz I theater I produktionen) which is the management and backbone for the artistic views of  the internationally active collective: NETZWERK AKS  I  Platform for Contemporary Dance + Art under her Artistic Direction. AKS is a member of diverse juries and actively involved in the development of contemporary art projects in Europe and South East Asia. As an artist AKS works on the field of soundscape, stage + light design, film and choreography. She is the co-director of the ART SPACE Stift Millstatt located in an old monastery close to the lake Millstättersee in Austria.

 

For the Platform für Contemporary Dance + Art, the NETZWERK AKS, Andrea K. Schlehwein staged since 2008 several full-length dance productions, site specific performances and Dance Film Installations. With her production ‚wozzeck_woyzeck_reloaded’ she was invited to SIDance / Seoul International Dance Festival and other venues in Korea 2014 – her dance + film production INVOCATION followed in 2016 performing at Busan International Short Film Festival and spot on : AUSTRIA.

 

She is the Artistic Director of the international section of the festival LIGHT ON – LIGHT OFF and initiator of the symposion-in-motion: POSITIONEN  Diskurse und Dialoge im zeitgenössischen Tanz Kärnten. In 2015 she co-curated exhibitions of Deborah Sengl and Christian Einfalt. In 2016 she presents her art work in Korea and Austria bringing one new dance production (HERE AND NOW) and a performance series (ex : cerpt  I  vol. 1 I 2 I 3) to life.
